Ekin Kano
Ekin Kano (born 1990 in Istanbul, Turkey) graduated from the Photography and Video Department at Yıldız Technical University in Istanbul. She also participated in an exchange program at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, Netherlands. Kano went on to complete her Master's degree in the Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Department at Sabancı University, further honing her artistic skills and knowledge.
Throughout her artistic career, Kano has been exploring themes related to anthropocentrism, the theory of evolution, and natural history. Her works delve into the complex relationships between humans, nature, and the broader context of our place within the natural world. By examining these interconnected subjects, Kano creates thought-provoking pieces that challenge viewers to reconsider their perceptions of the human-nature dynamic and the impact of human activities on the environment. Kano's artworks have been featured in various group exhibitions across the globe, showcasing her unique perspective and creative approach to these important topics. Her works have been displayed in exhibitions held in major cities such as Istanbul, Los Angeles, Zurich, Paris, Belgrade, and Winterthur.
