Jessica Matier

Jessica Matier, born in South Korea in 1985 and now based in Kansas City, MO, is an artist whose mixed-media abstract paintings are a gateway to exploring space, time, and consciousness. A Parsons School of Design alum, she moved from watercolor and collage to her current mixed-media practice in 2016, creating work informed by a synthesis of psychology, various religions, and her own spiritual practices. Her paintings have been featured in group exhibitions in New York City, Chicago, and The Other Art Fair in Brooklyn, and her work "Natural Things" is held in the permanent collection of Rutgers University's Camden Center of the Arts.
